The Sprague Brook to Hudson River section of Cedar River in New York is 18 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The wild scenery
of the Adirondack Mountains is great. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The wonderful New York scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream
beats anything. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.
