The Lower Chateugay Lake to Cooks Mill section of Chateaugay River is 12.2 miles long and it is classified as a class II-V+ section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.     Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. This is the only paddling section along Chateaugay River.
