The Remsen to Barneveld stretch of Cincinnati Creek in Oneida County is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Remsen to Barneveld stretch is the only paddling stretch along Cincinnati Creek. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Cincinnati Creek gets a great deal of water; during December this area sees the most snow while July is usually the driest month. Summertime   highs at Cincinnati Creek generally tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is a little chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Cincinnati Creek tend to be in the 0's.
