The starting location is a reasonable drive from Utica-Rome, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking     you might find the rivers here more demanding, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section of Cincinnati Creek in Oneida County is 4.5 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. This is the only paddling stretch along Cincinnati Creek. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
