The starting location is a reasonable drive from Watertown-Fort Drum, as you can see on the road map further down. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The New Boston to High Falls Dam section is the only paddling section along Deer River. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget     that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
