The Hancock to Port Jervis stretch of Delaware River in New York is 77 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The wonderful New York scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states,
so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Hancock to Port Jervis section is one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way
this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

days of summer are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's while Delaware River nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
