CLASS I-II 77 miles
This section of Delaware River in New York is 77 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The wonderful Delaware/ Sullivan/ Orange County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Delaware River are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Getting some
good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often
more challenging than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear.
