New York whitewater, Delaware River

Sullivan Orange Pike county, Mongaup Wave section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II     0.2 miles
The wonderful Sullivan/ Orange/ Pike County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from East Stroudsburg, there's a road map further down the page
with more info on that. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very
popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Delaware River in Sullivan/ Orange/ Pike County is 0.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. This stretch is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
