The nature scenery of Hamilton County and the water flowing gracefully down Doig Creek beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. When you're paddling down a Adirondack Mountains river     like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This is the only paddling stretch along Doig Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The put-in location is a short drive from Gloversville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the summer months at Doig Creek   highs are generally in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Doig Creek.
