The Haynes Hollow Creek to East Branch D stretch of Dry Brook in Ulster/ Delaware County is 5.5 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Dry Brook doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Haynes Hollow Creek to East Branch D stretch is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here
don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers
for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.

winter nights. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Catskill Mountains. Since you're here at Dry Brook why not check out Negro Hollow, and wonderful scenery and great skiing is what you obtain at Belleayre. Dry Brook ordinarily gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest.
