The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number     of paddling rivers. This stretch of East Canada Creek is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Powley Place to Stratford section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
