The nature scenery of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. The campgrounds here at East Stony Creek are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're coming from Gloversville
it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be
more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people
coming from far and near. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
