  This section of East Stony Creek in New York is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Gloversville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are
    not suitable for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The natural beauty of Warren/ Hamilton County and the playfulness of the
water have people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this  
river. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Tenant Creek to Old State Highway section is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at East Stony Creek you will meet lots of folks from close by Northville. On a good day at East Stony Creek you can take a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Oregon Trail. This river has so much to offer. For the period of the summer months at East Stony Creek temperatures are usually in the 70's.
