The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Tenant Creek to Old State Highway stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.     Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Gloversville, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Warren/ Hamilton County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far.
