The beautiful scenery of Warren/ Hamilton County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section of East Stony Creek in New York is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater
a class II-V section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. The Adirondack
Mountains scenery is wonderful. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Gloversville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
