The beautiful scenery of New York and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There's camping available near Erie Canal. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Erie Canal gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; throughout September this area sees the most rain while January is usually the driest month. For the duration of the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Erie Canal. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. For the period   of the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Erie Canal. You'll meet a lot of people from Rochester here.
