This stretch of Erie Canal in Monroe County is 0.14 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for     that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The natural beauty of Monroe County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Erie Canal doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Lock 32 Whitewater Course stretch is the only one. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; after   the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Erie Canal plunge into the 10's. The amount of rainfall that falls at Erie Canal is close to the national average; September is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest.
