Ulster county, Big Indian to Allaben section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II(III)     5 miles

either way there are lots of good places for that around here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Esopus Creek have people coming here. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The put-in is not too far from Hudson, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost.
