The Etna to Forest Home section of Fall Creek in Tompkins County is 8 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't     forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The put-in is not too far from Ithaca, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Etna to Forest Home section is one of them.
