  This section of Fall Creek in New York is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Ithaca it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors
    have a lot of people coming here. There's camping available near Fall Creek. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The wonderful New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Fall
Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.

Briefly about the general area:
The smiling people of Ithaca like to hang out close by. Fall Creek gets a normal amount of rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while January is commonly the driest month.
All through the months of summer highs here at Fall
 
Creek get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Fall Creek temperatures plunge to the 10's.
