New York whitewater - Fish Creek, Saratoga County Saratoga county, Burgoyne to Schuylerville section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-IV     7.5 miles   The starting location is a reasonable drive from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater rafting     and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Fish Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Burgoyne to Schuylerville stretch is the only one. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Fish Creek is 7.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. Briefly about the general area: An average amount of precipitation falls at Fish Creek; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest. For the duration of the warm   months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Fish Creek. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Fish Creek.
