New York whitewater - Flint Creek, Monroe County Monroe county, Phelps Run section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III+(IV)     3 miles   The Phelps Run stretch of Flint Creek is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is the only paddling section along Flint Creek. If you're coming from Seneca Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the     area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. The wonderful Monroe County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Flint Creek attract people from near and far. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
