CLASS II-III 4.5 miles
This stretch of Genesee River in Wyoming/Livingston County is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The scenic beauty of Wyoming/Livingston County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This
is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Batavia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit
away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are no other sections to paddle along Genesee River than the Lee's Landing to St. Helena section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that.
