  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Along trail to Route 8 section of Georgia Brook in New York is 0.3 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Gloversville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map
    further down the page. There's camping available near Georgia Brook. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Along trail to
Route 8 stretch is one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you  
came. The natural beauty of Hamilton/Warren County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.

Georgia Brook is a place with many visitors from Wells. Georgia Brook is right by the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail, and the skiing at Gore Mountain is delightful. A river like this is too good to miss. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Oregon Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Georgia Brook. The wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
