Holmes Lake Outlet doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Route 125 to West
Stony Creek stretch is the only one. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Gloversville, there's

You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river.
