You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. The Route 125 to West Stony Creek section is the only paddling section along Holmes Lake Outlet. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot
of people coming here. The nature scenery of Fulton County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
