New York whitewater - Hudson River, Adirondack Mountains, Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren county, Indian River to North River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III-IV     14 miles   This section of Hudson River is 14 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others     too. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Hudson River attract people from near and far. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Hudson River gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most; February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Hudson River through the summertime are in the 70's.   Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Hudson River through the winter frequently dip into the 0's.
