Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the North River to Riparius section is just one of many. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t     have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful scenery of Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County and the cool fresh water beats anything. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. The campgrounds here at Hudson River are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Briefly about the general area: During the months of summer highs here at Hudson River reach the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hudson River are in the 0's. Hudson   River is a good site of common rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
