The scenic beauty of Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County and the water flowing gracefully down Hudson River beats anything. The North River to Riparius stretch of Hudson River in New York is 13 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take
your time, so pack your camp stove. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the North River to Riparius section is just one of many. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here.

The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Hudson River overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's.
