New York whitewater - Hudson River, Adirondack Mountains, Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren county, Riparius to Glen section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III     8 miles   Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The scenic beauty of Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The put-in is not too far from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then     no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Riparius to Glen stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section of Hudson River in New York is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Hudson River throughout the summer months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's   with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Hudson River. A typical amount of rain falls here at Hudson River; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
