The starting location is a reasonable drive from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 70's to Hudson River. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hudson River are in the   0's.
