The Riparius to Glen stretch of Hudson River in Essex/ Hamilton/ Warren County is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers     here are not suitable for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. The campgrounds here at Hudson River are pretty good. The Riparius to Glen section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. When you're paddling down a Adirondack Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the days of   summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Hudson River. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hudson River are in the 0's. From a rain point of view Hudson River is a quite normal place; most of the rain falls during August, and February is the month with the least moisture.
