  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Saratoga/Warren County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The Spier Falls to Sherman Island stretch of Hudson River in Saratoga/Warren County is 3.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-V section. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother
    nature have people coming from far and near. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area
you'll find lots of paddling rivers. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.

When you're here at Hudson River it's always fun to stop by Moreau Lake State Park It's always delightful to visit Spier Falls. Saratoga Spa State Park is a nice spot to stretch your legs a bit, and time spent at Haviland Cove Beach is always fine. This river is so great. Here at Hudson River there are plenty of folks from Gansevoort, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at West Mountain. Summertime highs at Hudson River usually tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Hudson River.
