The nature scenery of Saratoga/Warren County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This section of Hudson River in Saratoga/Warren County is 3.6 miles long and is a class I-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states,
so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area
with plenty of places for that. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. rains the most, and the driest month is February. A short spree to Spier Falls is always worthwhile, and a day on the slopes of West Mountain is just what you need. During the summertime, highs typically are in the 70's at Hudson River, and during the night it cools down to
the 50's. During the winter highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Hudson River dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
