The Abanakee Dam to Hudson River section of Indian River in New York is 2.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-V section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. Getting a good workout
