CLASS II-V 2.5 miles
This stretch of Indian River in New York is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There are no other sections to paddle along Indian River than the Abanakee Dam to Hudson River section. The scenic beauty of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile.
The campgrounds here at Indian River are pretty good. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are
probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience.
