The wonderful Lewis/ Jefferson County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around     here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Natural Bridge to Antwerp stretch is the only paddling stretch along Indian River. This stretch of Indian River in Lewis/ Jefferson County is 20 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: An average amount of rainfall falls at Indian River; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. For the duration of the summertime highs here at Indian River get into the 80's. Throughout   the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Indian River night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's.
