If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There's camping available near Island Branch. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling section along Island Branch.
