This stretch of Keshegua Creek in New York is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. The starting point is not too far from Rochester, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Livingston County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along Keshegua Creek than the Tuscarora to Sonyea stretch. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and spending some
quality time in nature are great reasons to come. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Whitewater
rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
