The Route 10 bridge to Charlotte Creek section of Kortright Creek is 3.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of New York and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better     keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater paddling here in the Catskill Mountains is a great experience. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are no other sections to paddle along Kortright Creek than the Route 10 bridge to Charlotte Creek section. During the warm months at Kortright Creek temperatures are commonly in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Kortright Creek temperatures dip to the 10's.
