The scenic beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of La Chute River in New York is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V+ section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Lake George to Lake Champlain stretch is the only paddling stretch along La Chute River. The put-in is not too far from Glens
Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking
or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
