The Aldrich to Oswegatchie stretch of Little River in St. Lawrence County is 6.2 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if     you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. The put-in location is a short drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Little River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Aldrich to Oswegatchie section is the only one. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the warm months at Little River temperatures are mostly in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.   For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Little River.
