If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Little Black Creek have people coming here. This is a pretty     decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch of Little Black Creek in New York is 5.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Hughes Road to Black River section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: All the outdoors cool things in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Have a nice hiking adventure along the Stone Dam Trail; since you're here you can take a hike along the Forty Mountain   Trail. Summertime highs at Little Black Creek ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Little Black Creek are in the 0's. The high level of rain makes Little Black Creek a pretty wet spot; most of the rain falls throughout September while February is ordinarily the driest month.
