The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The natural
    beauty of New York and the cool fresh water have people coming here. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away
from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Road from Castor Hill to North Branch section of Mad River in New York is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Road from Castor Hill to North  
Branch section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
