If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The starting point is not too far from Watertown-Fort Drum, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The natural beauty of Oswego County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The nearby hotels     are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A short visit to Mad River Falls is always worthwhile, and Horseshoe Bend is an attention-grabbing thing to see since you're here.
