The natural beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This is a pretty short section so you'd better     be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
