The Belle Ayr to Grant Mills stretch of Mill Brook in Ulster/ Delaware County is 3.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.     Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The Belle Ayr to Grant Mills stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
