The wonderful New York scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near Mill Brook. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find     the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The beauty of the Catskill Mountains is a great plus for this river.
