There are no other stretches to paddle along Mill Creek than the Moriah Center to Port Henry stretch. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds     nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. The natural beauty of New York and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Mill Creek gets a common amount of rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Throughout the summer months at Mill Creek highs are generally in the 70's,   and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while Mill Creek nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's.
