This stretch of Mill Creek in New York is 5 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of New York and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Mill Creek than the Moriah Center to Port Henry section. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the
river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll
find a large number of good spots. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving.
