county,
Johnsburg above Wevertown to Hudson River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 5 miles
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Mill Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Mill Creek doesn't
have a lot of paddling sections, the Johnsburg above Wevertown to Hudson River section is the only one. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The wonderful
New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Mill Creek attract people from near and far. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
