New York whitewater, Mill Creek

Warren county, Johnsburg above Wevertown to Hudson River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS V     5 miles
If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Warren County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Johnsburg above Wevertown to Hudson River section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at
a nearby campground. The Johnsburg above Wevertown to Hudson River stretch of Mill Creek in Warren County is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Whitewater paddling here
in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that the
rivers in this state are less manageable. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
