  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The put-in location is a short drive from Watertown-Fort Drum, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of New York and the cool fresh water beats anything. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then
    no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is the only paddling section along Mill Creek. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Summertime highs at Mill Creek typically tend to be in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mill Creek.
