The Cohoes Wave section of Mohawk River in New York is 0 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The starting location is a short drive from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, as you can see on the road map further down. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is an extremely short section so it's not like you're gonna
spend hours on the river in one stretch. There's camping available near Mohawk River. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Cohoes Wave
