The starting point is not too far from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This is a very short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Some people     prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
