This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are     a few others too. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a very short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy.
