If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.     For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This is the only paddling section along Mongaup River. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Mongaup River. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and night lows at Mongaup River through the wintertime mostly fall into the 10's. The Peenpack Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Mongaup River; nearby you locate the Lost Cabin Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.
