The starting location is a reasonable drive from Kingston, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. A good workout and just being out on the river     for a while have people coming from far and near. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This is the only paddling section along Moodna Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: The Stillwell Lake Trail offers hiking at its best. Moodna Creek gets lots of water; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Through the warm days of summer at Moodna Creek highs are frequently in the   70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows at Moodna Creek all through the winter typically fall into the 10's.
