The put-in location is a short drive from Kingston, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking     or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Moodna Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Woodbury Creek to Old Forge Hill Road section is the only one. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beautiful scenery of New York and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Briefly about the general area: Moodna Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is usually the driest month. Going for a hike on the Stillwell Lake Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Through the warm months   highs here at Moodna Creek get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Moodna Creek are in the 10's.
