The Rock Island to Fowlersville stretch of Moose River in New York is 9 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There's camping available near Moose River. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 70's to Moose River, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Moose River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Moose River is a good place of typical precipitation;   the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest.
