  The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The Singing Waters Campground to McKeever stretch of Moose River - Middle Branch is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section.
    The starting location is a short drive from Utica-Rome, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for
that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Singing Waters Campground to McKeever stretch is just one of them. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're  
willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Briefly about the general area:
On a delightful day at Moose River - Middle Branch you can take a hike along the Stone Dam Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; McCauley Mountain is rather near. All year is a pleasant time in the Adirondack Mountains if you fancy the outdoors. There are plenty of people from Forestport here at Moose River - Middle Branch. The Twin Lakes Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the vicinity of Moose River - Middle Branch.
