The starting location is a reasonable drive from Utica-Rome, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The Singing Waters Campground     to McKeever section of Moose River - Middle Branch in New York is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.
