  The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The nature scenery of New York and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're coming from Gloversville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further
    down the page so you won’t get lost. The Silver Run to Bridge at Plains section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back
for more. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch of Moose River - South Branch in Hamilton County is 6 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby,  
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

Briefly about the general area:
If you're visiting Moose River - South Branch from Inlet, you won't be the only one, and you can go for a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail. So many exciting things in the Adirondack Mountains, just fantastic. Nothing beats kicking back at Silver Beach. Through the summer here at Moose River - South Branch, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's.
