If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beautiful scenery of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either     way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. There are no other sections to paddle along Murder Creek than the Akron section. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There's camping available near Murder Creek. The Akron section of Murder Creek in Erie County is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class II(V+) section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Murder Creek is a good spot of common rain; most of the rain falls throughout August; the driest month of the year   is February. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Murder Creek, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Murder Creek overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
