Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. | The put-in location is a short drive from Watertown-Fort Drum, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Boshart Road to East Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Negro Brook. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
