This stretch of Neversink River in Orange/ Sullivan County is 13 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. The wonderful New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Neversink River will make you feel great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section has enough mileage for an     overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Neversink River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: A short spree to Denton Falls is always worthwhile. Through the long summer days highs here at Neversink River get into the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Neversink River is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
