Genesee/Monroe
county,
Leroy to Fort Hill section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III 3 miles
If you're coming from Batavia it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night,
but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend
hours on the river in one stretch. The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Oatka Creek than the Leroy to Fort Hill section.
