The wonderful New York scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. When you're paddling down a Adirondack Mountains river like this one you always get great     scenery along the way too. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
