This stretch of Oswegatchie River - East Branch is 2.2 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get     to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The scenic beauty of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Oswegatchie River - East Branch make the trip here worthwhile. The starting location is a short drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: Oswegatchie River - East Branch gets a common amount of precipitation;   most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month is February. There's great hiking along the Post Henderson Trail. Summer at Oswegatchie River - East Branch arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the night is fairly colder of course, regularly in the 50's.
